Is it normal for a Holiday Park to have an age limit for the Leisure Homes on the Park?

Yes it is.

Unfortunately it is common practice for a Holiday Park to have a limit on the age of Static Caravans, even if they are well maintained.

Please read this article that explains about a park that insists that the homes on its park are not manufactured before the year 2000.

The year 2000 does not sound that far away but obviously its now 22 years ago now;  which is quite a long time.  Many of us wont have a car that old.

It can seem unfair but Its mainly to stop the park being dragged down by people who would be happy living in a 60 year old tin shed; when the park is trying to maintain a lovely looking park which in turn maintains the value of your home should you wish to sell it.

Having an age limit is one way, amongst others in which they do this.

So yes it may sound unfair but it is standard practice across the Leisure Home industry and 20 years is pretty much the industry norm.

You may be lucky and find a park that is willing to rehome your Static Caravan but I think you’ll find that they all have an age limit for homes on their park of one age or another.
